AMON EARL BECK

Baby Amon was born on: MAY 28th, 2011 @ 6:37 AM

Amon was 33 weeks and 2 days.

weight: 4 LB 11 OZ

Length:17.5 INCHES

He is pretty little, but bigger than originally thought to be. He is much better off since he was able to stay in the womb for three more weeks; at least that is what the doctors tell me. Baby was feet first so a C-section was necessary, but I am finally home after 4 weeks in the hospital. Baby Amon will be in the NICU for 4-6 weeks depending on how well he does.

So Life will still not be normal for quite a while; as we will be doing multiple trips daily to the hospital and counting down the days until he can come home. But at least I will be able to leave the hospital and be back with my little girl and hubby. Ben and Hallee have been quite the troopers. I am so so thankful that everything went so well, and so grateful for my family Ben, Hal & my mommy and daddy. I would be so loss without them. We are so blessed.

AMON's PROGRESS;

5/28-Lung collapse, extremely swollen with fluids

5/29-Air Ventilators and chest tube

6/1-Lung infection cleared.

6/2-Jaundice-But now breathing all on his own

6/3-Removed critical blood line from belly button

6/3-Got to hold my baby for the 1st time. Started feedings

6/4-My baby is a week old!

6/5-Done with antibiotics

6/7-Removed blood line to belly

6/9- 35 weeks old

6/10-Heart & lungs look good. Now feedings are our focus.

6/11-Amon is 2 weeks old and completely healthy

6/6-6/17 Just working on feedings

6/13-2 feedings a day. started the bottle

6/16-36 weeks

6/18-3 weeks old

6/19-3 feedings a day

6/20-4 feedings a day (39 ml)-Started Oxygen with feedings

6/21-back to back(b2b) feedings. He did wonderful (record 52 ml)

6/22-b2b feeding. did pretty good

6/23-b2b feeding, didn't eat much, did ok

6/24-b2b feeding, didn't eat much at all hoping Iron will help. Started Iron supplement, red blood cells low.

My Baby is a Month old. (4 weeks old)

6/25-No b2b. Amon needs to take a break.

6/25-6/28-not eating much to exhausted. not really interested

6/29-eating better (took 63 ml breastfeeding-new record) eating 3/4 to 1/2 his bottles

6/30-Amon hit the 7 lb mark-up Iron supplement-38 weeks old. still not eating as much as we would like.(Eat 54 ml)

7/2-5 weeks old

7/3-3 feedings-Moved to a big boy bed

7/4-4 feedings-Moved to 4th floor

7/5-b2b feedings again

7/7-39 weeks

7/9-6 weeks old & started 12 hour request (I eat when I want for 1-4 hours & feed by tube at night)

7/10-24 hour request (I eat when I want 1-5 hours the entire day and night by bottle) 7/11-24 hour deman-my feeding tube is removed. Mommy and Daddy sleep at the hospital for feedings. 7/12-AMON comes HOME! Baby Amon passed all his tests and feeding. Discharged 7/12/11 at 12:45-with Vitamines, Iron, & Gas medication-came home on monitors and oxygen with feedings. 7/14-1st doctor visit. All is well-8lb 21inches.

JESSICA's PROGRESS:

5/28- C-section

6/1 - Got to come home from the hospital

6/4 & 6/5-still in a lot of pain and fevering

6/6-Went to doctor for infection in c-section

6/7- c-section tore opened. Went to doctor to pack the hole in my stomach

6/8-wound clinic, repacked my wound and hooked me up to vac pack

6/10-got a clod can't visit my baby. Hope to visit my baby again 6/18

6/13-Finally able to dose down all the drugs

6/15- a week after the vac pack-finally able to move and not hurt a lot

Finally getting over (hopefully) everything. My wound opening seems to me a very slow healing process. I go to the wound clinic 3 times a week to get the foam filter torn out of the hole then repacked. Needless to say it kills and is not so much fun.

6/22-Wound getting smaller-it doesn't kill anymore to get the foam out or inserted. Just hurts a little.

The hole in my tummy after 2 weeks of the Wound Vac. It actually looks really good. Only the size of a thumb now, but still deep. Originally it was 1.5 inches-I don't have a picture of the original tear because it was pretty gross. 6/27-AFter packing my Vac around for 3 weeks I finally got the Wound Vac removed. YEA!! Strangely I feel like I am missing something as I keep looking around for my little purse/bag to carry before I move or hold my tube so it won't get caught on anything. (Habit after 3 weeks of carrying it around, I guess.)

6/29-hole seems to have a very thin layer of skin over it. Yea it has finally come together.

6/27-7/6 tummy bandaged up.

7/11- Woubd clinic -pronounced me healed!-Whole tummy area still tender but feels wonderful.

My water broke Thursday, May 5th at about 8:40 PM. I was a bit freaked out since I am only 30 weeks, and he is not due for another two months. I yelled at Ben to get Hallee out of bed and we raced to the American Fork Hospital. They then admitted me did an ultrasound, found out he is breached (feet first) and told me I was going to Provo Hospital. Provo Hospital is supposed to be amazing with NICU. So I was very grateful. Unlucky they made me ride in an ambulance to Provo Hospital. I always thought it would be really scary to ride in an ambulance, but neither of us were really in any sort of danger-so the ambulance ride was a bit of a joy ride-a very expensive joy ride. We checked into Provo Hospital, got hooked up to a ton of machines to monitor me and the baby. Another ultra sound to check the baby and fluids; baby weights exactly 3 pounds (5/6/11). They gave me magnesium to help slow contractions, steroid shots for the babies lungs and antibiotics to fight off any infections. And now the plan is to keep the baby in the womb as long as possible. So the baby continues to grow as I am on bed rest in the hospital until he comes. Which could be any day up to 4 weeks. This is the best senerio for the baby, not so much for me, as I don't know how to pass the time. It seems like all I do is watch the clock, eat and wish I was eating. (P.S. I am not one to be sappy and emotional-sorry-I blame it on a pregnancy thing). The Doctors said that one day in the womb is a beneficial as a week in the NICU. Hopefully he decided to stay in a while longer and I will try not to go insane in the mean time. I am extremely grateful and yet again humbled to know that everything is not on my time line but gods.

I have officially been here 5 days, which I am pretty proud about. And hopefully I have many more days to come.

10 Things to be extremely ecstatic about:

1. I have room service

2. It is extremely quite /dull

3. I don't have to cook or clean

4. I actually have some TV channels here unlike my house

5. At least the weather sucks outside

6. My contractions are pretty minimual

7. I got my trip in before the baby came

8. Ben gets to experience mommy hood all weekend

9. I get a sleeping aid

10. Hum actually can't think of 10 things?

Ultrasound today 5/27/11 baby looks great. Baby weights 3 lb and 13 oz. He is measuring a little small but doctors are not worried about it. C-section is set for June 2nd at 9:30 AM. Mommy couldn't be happier to see a end in sight. Hopefully everything goes well.

EASTER 2011

Hallee came running into my room about 7 AM, Easter morning which is a little early for her. She was so excited, she let me know that the easter bunny came to our house. And to wake up that it was morning. I couldn't help but be excited too, after seeing her enthusiasm. I have to get up and eat about 7 ish any ways so we let Ben sleep in while we played with all the new gifts. Hallee with her loot. Coloring Easter Eggs Hallee loved coloring the eggs. After we colored them she then decided that we needed to eat two of them immediately. Adding princess stickers to the eggs Ben and Hallee and kitty; Easter morning looking for colorful eggs. Easter Egg hunt just for Hallee at our house All the Beck cousins after the Easter egg hunt at papa house.

China

1st Day-Tinanmen square, Forbidden City Walls, peal factory, lunch, Inner Forbidden City

2nd Day-Church, Lunch, Summer Palace, Jade factory, Acrobat show

3rd Day-Sacred Way, lunch, Great Wall

4th Day-Temple of Heaven, silk factory, lunch, old Bejing tour on rickshaw, Olympic sites.

China from the window of our hotel room. Beautiful! China is beautiful and very very clean, doesn't seem like a 3rd world county at all. Very green with rivers, trees and vegitation everywhere, with skyscrapers. 1st Day-

First we visited Tinanmen Square- which is one of the largest public squares in the world (98 acres). Chairman Mao-Tinanmen Square. Here we saw thousands and thousands of people waiting in line to pay there respects for there leader Chairman Mao. Guards Chines guy and Ben in Tinanmen Square. Chines love young Americans. He asked to have a photo taken with Ben. The Forbidden City was built in the 15th century which is a hugh city that housed the emperors and all there concubines. There are 6 walls and a mote that surround the actual city to protect the emperors. Emepior chambers in the forbidden city. It is amazing all the hand made architechture and detail that the chines people have done. They have receintly re-hand painted most of the forbidden palace. I don't think that I have walked this much in my entire life what we did in this one day. My feet were so sore that I canceled my message scheduled for that night, But Ben really enjoyed his. forbidden city- is hugh, when the chines do something they certainly know how to do it BIG. Chines traditional lunch. Seats about 8-10 people, they bring 10-15 different dishes out on a rotating glass table, and you try a little of everything. This was our first lunch and by far the best tasting. Except the part where they brought out a fully intacted fish. Shea then decided he would try and make me nausous by eating the two eye balls out of the fishes head.

2nd Day–

Summer Palace The lake behind us is man made; they dumped all the dirt from the man made lake to creat the mountains surrounding us. Summer palace where the kings spent there time in the summer. Family photo at the Summer Palace which is listed as one of the world UNESCO World Heritage Sites and ranked as one of the finest classical gardens in the world. Spring was in full bloom. We made sure to get grandpa a wheel chair, after the first day of miles and miles of walking. Here's the boys lifting him over some stairs.

3rd Day –

The sacred way; witch is lined with the sacred statues of animals and soldiers. Also where 13 of Chinas emperor's are in tomb. This staute is gigantic my dad and Mac are pretty tall, but this guy would crush them. Sacred way: our kung fu fighting skills. Ben and Jess petting the tutrle head to bring good luck. The chines are super superstitious. I love the Chines look at all these bikes. The majority are motorized. Fun hun. Ben on the GREAT WALL The Great Wall on a clear gourgous day. The Great Wall-Winding across deserts, grasslands, mountains and plateaus, the Great Wall of China stretches over 4,000 miles. We climbed a section of the Great Wall, yes it is great. The wall is massive.

4th Day-

The Temple of Heaven- which is now a senior center/beautiful park. Elderly Chinese come by the thousands daily to exercise and to participate in Chinese cultural activities. We even got to participate in some of the activities. warriors at the old Beijing museum how stinken cute our little rickshaw ride; touring the old streets of Beijing. The men at the silk factory I had to at least try one on. This one cost $450.00 us dollars needs less to say We didn't buy one, but we did invest in a couple of silk comforters for our beds. I haven't been able to use mine yet, but Ben loves loves loves his. The Bird Nest- where part of the olympics were held. The Cube Jess and grandpa in chines hats Make sure you carry your own toilet paper with you in china, or your out of luck. Imagine using these being 6 months pregnant. Lets just say i dreaded using there toilets every two hours. All of us had fun with the wheel chair.

Hallee graduation

I was in the hospital for Hallee preschool graduation and her Gymnastic. So I am finally getting around to putting pictures up. Ben said she was shy and didn't even want to participate, which is unlike my out going little girl. Me being in the hospital has had quite the impact on her. So instead of singing with her class she decided to just sit by and watch them perform. Maybe next year she is still pretty young at 3 years old. She looks pretty dang cute.
