Youth conference 2012

Ben and I were in charge of our wards youth conference. We went to Joe's Valley-its about 40 minutes past price. Very pretty place lots of green and a beautiful lake. We have been planning this for three months with the youth committee, and finally all that planning came into action.  I was STRESSES out to learn that:

#1- there is not electricity

#2- or running water at this cabin 

#3- and I was in a tent.  

#4-to top it all off Ben couldn't miss work Thursday, 

#5- so I would have to be in charge and have to talk in front of people an entire day all by myself. 

#6- I had to pull a trailer (I told them I would only pull a trailer as long as I didn't have to back it up)-

So yes, I did make other leaders back up the trailer for me on two separate occasions.  

#7- We got a little lost, twice actually.

 #8- Our morning speaker pulled a no show. baaah. 

#9- They did get me a cooking committee buy only, 2 weeks before, so I was stressing out about the food for 3 months; but that did relived a little bit of stress.

In summary: Pretty much I ran around for 2 days straight. It was lots of FUN but so nice to have over. The youth were a lot of fun.  I believe it turned out to be a big success.

After the pageant we didn't get back to the cabin until midnight then the youth stayed up playing truth or dare. Then that morning we woke them up at 6AM for a morning hike. Some of the youth maybe didn't like me much......until doughnuts and hot chocolate showed up. Ben giving our sunrise speech. Ben is amazing.

The youth are amazing! It was a nice little break, but I missed my kiddos terribly.  Thanks Mommy and Daddy and Mac for watching my kids.

Summer in the Pool

Pretty much this sums up our entire summer. Pool, splash pads, boating, Hallee's dance class, Amon's naps, and trips-Lake Powell & St. George.

Anniversary

I bought wicked tickets for Ben and I to celebrate our anniversary.  I actually bought 4 tickets thinking I would sell two.  I made 50 Bucks not to bad.  I came down in price, because I felt bad asking for more money. I should have made Ben negotiate, I have never done it before, obesely not one of my strengths.   Ben snuck in and bought me a wicked shirt while I got the tickets.  Ben is my sweetheart.

Wicked was amazing.  Loved all of it!

 Ben and I have been renters,  home owners, got degrees, held many jobs, have one amazing little girl, one sweet baby boy, scuba dived with one another,  and traveled the world together, who knows what in store for us next?   Can't wait to see what the future bring us.  Eight years and counting!!

Lake Powell July 2012

We made it to Lake Powell this year, YEA! We only were there for 3 full days but; we still had time to cram everything in. Swimming, sand, movies, games, golfing, tubbing, surfing, air chairing, jet skiing, and stuffing our faces with yummy food.

Hallee-is my little water bug. If someone was getting in the water Hallee was in there with them. She loves being the center of attention, and with lots of other grandkids to play with she was always happy.

Amon-was walking all over the house boat; against my wishes. Amon figured out how to walk about a week before Lake Powell. He was all over the place, I think he rather enjoyed him self. His favorite thing was to pick up items way to big for himself and pack them around the houseboat.

Grandpa Great couldn't tell these sweet girls no more crackers so they feed half the bag to the fish. I am pretty sure we attracted every fish with in 100 feet over to our boat. I was a little apprehensive to get in the water with all those fishes.

My kids were angles on the ride to and from Lake Powell. Amon took a 2 hr nap both ways. Hallee took a 1-2 hour naps both ways also and all the potty stops actually worked out as we were already stopped for gas. Can I say AMAZING!

sticker time- Hallee found stickers and decided to decorate herself. It entertained her for the last 30 minutes of our ride home. lol
